Hi, my name is Siddharth. I am a photographer, camera maker and a keen explorer of historical photography printing. Originally from Rajkot, I lead ASK which is an art and design collective.
.
As a kid I remember taking photos on my father's camera. I was fortunate enough to come from an era where digital photography was not yet invented. We used to capture the world on 35mm negatives.
.
In design college, with photography as an elective, my curiosity turned into a passion. Photo trips led me to explore different cultures, communities, and their stories in a visual medium. Photographs help me document my experiences - to share the beauty and diversity I was privy to.
.
Nikon FM10 was my first film-based manual SLR camera. Today, I teach people how to make their own paper pinhole cameras and work with many old photography printing techniques like cyanotype, salt print, argyrotype, gum prints and the silver gelatin process. It's a shame that people are missing out on the magic of analog.

At The Office
Audience Engagement: During October and November, each Monday, we did '3 Truths and 1 Lie'. Where creators would share interesting statements with Joynt's followers, encouraging them to catch their lie in a comment. We would then release the lie on Thursday with the creator's works. Later in December, we did 'Ask the Creator'.
Blogs with monthly themes:
October - Introductions (Our first event, Our founder, The problems we are trying to solve and Introducing Joynt and what it can do for you)
November - Self Care (Conquering criticism, Positive mornings, Self-care tips)
December - Remote Finds ( Tribal crafts, Folk musical instruments, Unique waterfalls)
Quotes: They were quick pick-me-ups for the audience but also was a way to use hashtags to link to popular names in the industry.

Friday Finds
Our followers loved our Fridays 'At The Office' posts, so we segmented to two different segments - 'Monday Mood' and 'Friday Finds'.
Becasue we were curating the initial 100 creators, we usually met them in person to discuss their work. We would meet magicians, singers, dancers, painters, skateboarders and more. Their visits and talent showcase was posted to show our dynamic office environment.
On Fridays we continue to focus on our main crew. We chose one employee, each week, to take over the day. We would create gifs and office memes about the spotlight employee. We would also follow the employee around creating POV videos on Instagram live. At the end of the day we would share 3 finds by the employee (creators they personally follow and recommend). This helps us get more creators in the loop with hashtags.
Featured Creator: We expanded our community largely when we feature creators, so we began showcasing 2 creators each week. We also prioritised creators who were already using the app so more people would understand the process better. January and February, we created crossword puzzles about the creator's favourite things - revealing Monday's answers on Thursday and Thursday's answers the following Monday. In March we switched it up to a word search.
